Getting Arty at the Old Millhouse – Interested in art? Want to try? Want to improve? Local artist Diane Benn will be on hand to run a tailor-made class for you and your group. Choose from portraiture, still life landscape or figure drawing, developing skills in drawing, charcoal and paint.

  • Landscaping: the Old Millhouse sits in beautifully wooded surroundings which will be perfect for sketching outdoors.
  • Portraiture: working from the model (members of the group can take it in turns to sit) we will explore drawing and painting the face to achieve a convincing likeness.
  • Still-life/flower painting: develop your skills of observing and recording inanimate objects over a day or number of days to really hone your abilities.
  • Figure Drawing: working from the supplied model (clothed/unclothed), we will look at anatomy and how the body works in a defined ‘space’.

Diane is a figurative artist, but can also lead classes in abstract art (developing themes) if required, and she is available on commission to create your bespoke painting.
