Painting new pictures of autumn at the Old Millhouse

Autumn is a time for reflecting back on the summer that has just (about) been, while also, I believe, looking forward to winter in front of the fire (we have a rather nice fire in our Orangery, as you can see here) and relaxing with a good book in hand, surrounded by nice pictures and works of art.  It’s also a time to take stock, consider what our guests might like to look at and, hopefully, making some little changes that mirror our changing lives and times.

To that end, I’m delighted to say that (with advice from the Old Millhouse herself, who is very particular about what adorns her walls), I have bought two new paintings.  That means that one of the old ones has had to go (into each life some rain must fall), but I think our visitors will like the changes. I certainly do!

The new pictures, shown here on the walls of the Orangery, are:

Harvest Harmony, shown below, by Tricia Barna, which I absolutely love because I adore harvest time, and also because it replaces one of those pictures which I secretly wanted rid of!

The Dancers, by Scottish artist Janet McCrorie on the right-hand side of the photo of the Orangery above.

You really must come to visit us and see these amazing paintings in their new setting.  We’re now taking bookings for next year, so for more information, contact me at the number/email address below.
