Meet Maud

Hello,

It’s me again!  The Old Millhouse, with a story about my new bestie.

If you’ve read some of my earlier blogs, you’ll know that I’ve got lots of House relatives dotted around – like my cousins Preston(field) and Dalmeny, my great-uncle Traquair and my big sister Hopetoun.  Today, however, I want to write about my new best friend, Maud.

Maud lives in Edinburgh. She is very elegant but she’s intimate too (not like that, behave yourself). What I mean is that she combines grandeur with modernity, all across a number of beautifully designed rooms (remind you of anyone? – I ask modestly) – set in the city’s stylish West End, with the added bonus of the nearby artisan bakers, book-shops and boutiques to browse and buy from.

Piano Room, MaudMaud has a piano lounge (shown here), a garden room, a dining room and, of course, a bar.  She tells me that up to 26 guests can make use of her dining room, and if you want a large-scale event then she can fit in 150 people across all her different areas.  Whether it’s a private house party or a business gathering, she offers a mix of settings that can be tailored to suit the occasion. She even employs experts in event organisation and management, so you can leave all the details to them and, like my guests here at the Old Millhouse (I think she copied my idea actually), her guests can have the services of a Concierge to look after their every requirement.  Whether you’re looking for an intimate celebration space, a small wedding venue or the ideal place for a celebration dinner (graduation, ‘big’ birthday or anniversary), she has just what you are looking for – and more.

I like Maud – us houses need to look after each other, so if you’re looking for a place for a special event in Edinburgh, do have a look at her website. And, naturally, she tells me that she recommends the Old Millhouse for anyone staying over in the area!
