Top-end of the market – the Old Millhouse and ScotlandShop

We like to think of the Old Millhouse as being at the top end of the market.  We’re also grateful that our visitors agree, as the many complimentary comments on our website demonstrate.  And our commitment to quality extends to those other companies with whom we share a desire for excellence in every facet of our and their operations. Consequently, when we recommend a business, whether it’s helicopters for ferrying our guests around Scotland or a unique food/meeting venue in the heart of Edinburgh, we extensively research them and make contact with their owners to find out what makes them tick and why they might want to associate themselves with us – and vice versa.

This is why I’m delighted to say that we are looking forward to directing many of our guests to ScotlandShop when they visit Edinburgh.  The ScotlandShop began life in 2002, bringing a unique slant to the (highly competitive) business of Scottish crafts, gifts, textiles and food. Make no mistake, it is a very competitive market.  Tartan goods and textiles of every make and quality proliferate so to stand out you have to be very good. And the ScotlandShop is very good indeed.  Now moved on from their original premise of providing food and crafts, they focus entirely on the design and production of the very best tailored tartan clothing, fabric, wedding outfits and interior textiles you’ll find anywhere.

Have a look at this short video in which Anna, their founder, explains their history…

Now the Old Millhouse’s guests are, by their nature, invariably seeking the very best (it’s why they stay with us!), and this, inevitably, leads them to seek out the highest quality shops.  And that’s where the ScotlandShop steps in.

We’re happy to arrange a trip there for you when you come to stay with us. For more details, please contact Sally on 07824 773 060 or email sally@oldmillhouse.co.uk
