Sally’s Little Black Book

Hi folks,

It’s me!  The Old Millhouse, possibly the only five-star accommodation in Scotland writing blogs today* (or indeed yesterday or tomorrow).  In the past, I’ve told you about some of the other houses, often much bigger than me, that adorn the countryside around Edinburgh and the Lothians, but now I’d like to tell you a little bit about some of the VIP arrangements I have with other places around and about.

I may have mentioned it before, but Sally, the boss, has what I believe the tourist trade refers to as “an enviable list of contacts in her Little Black Book.”

This means that any of our guests can ask for (almost) anything – their favourite label whisky, vegan profiteroles, trips in a helicopter, golf at short notice, you name it – and Sally knows someone, or knows someone who knows someone, who can help!

The LBB has also come in handy in developing what Sally and I have decided to call our VIP offers. These are our relationships with carefully selected and vetted local establishments, offering high quality products and services that we believe our guests might enjoy. I’ve already written about The Scotland Shop, and over the next few weeks I’m going to tell you a bit more about some of the other VIP experiences Sally and I have arranged.  But in the meantime, if you’re contemplating a few days of pampered luxury in the Edinburgh area and would like to find out more about what Sally’s Little Black Book contains, why not drop her a note and ask her about something you’ve always wanted as a special treat while you’re on holiday. So long as it’s not too outlandish, I am sure she’ll find someone, somewhere, who can make your stay here even more special!

The Old Millhouse

*actually, as I have confessed in the past, it’s Sally who writes the blogs, although I do tell her what to say.  She has an advantage over me when it comes to writing as, being a house, I don’t have fingers…
